The X-school task:
To create a multimedia project that will be shown “in flight” to introduce travellers to New Zealand for the world cup to “the real New Zealand.” Your production showcases one aspect of life near each of your schools: May either illustrate similarities or differences.
  • Must be 2-5 mins
  • Include visual, oral, music etc - May include animation
  • Include shots of all the team (Alfred Hitchcock style is fine)
  • Have contributions from each of the team members
  • Both entertain & inform
  • May be finally ‘mixed’ by LT but must be planned by all and support teachers to hone their skills
  • Due for completion week 9 – uploaded to Youtube by mid week 10 (ictpdcluster@gmail.com ictpd2011)
  • You may use the team leader from your LT workshop team as a mentor if you need to.
Your teams have the principals included as you requested and are as follows:

Team leaders: Please, If I have missed someone add them to one of the smaller teams.
You may call a team meeting at Boulcott School Tuesday 23 August but do not have to. You may elect to Skype, have a audio conference (just checking the MOE bridge is still available) or may meet at an alternative place of your choice.
Your team may choose to include their class but do not have to.
Remember- The team task is your guide. It was:
To create a multimedia project that showcases one aspect of life in Wellington
  • Must be 3-5 mins
  • Include visual, oral, music etc
  • May include animation
  • Include shots of all the team (Alfred Hitchcock style fine)
  • Have contributions from each of the team
  • Have a twist – ie have an element of the ‘unexpected.”
  • Contain a shot taken during ‘the big snow.’
Your special Challenges were:
Wellington as ‘the Arts capital.’
  • To include a shot of the team in a section of Te Papa &/or at Downstage and include at least 3 of “the arts”.
Wellington as “the education capital.’
  • To include 3 distinct education centres, each representing a different element of education & containing 1 of your team. One must be either the Minister of Ed or the MOE.
Wellington as “the capital of all habitats.’
  • To include 3 distinct natural ‘habitats’, each containing 1 of your team.
Wellington as “the sporting capital.’
  • To include 3 distinct sporting centres, each representing a different sport & containing 1 of your team.
Wellington as “the historical capital.’
  • To include 3 distinct historical elements, each representing a different time in history & containing 1 of your team. One must be the cable car.
The Roles:
  1. As the “expert teacher” - Ensures others learn the required mm skills, ensures a high quality product & is ‘hands off!”
  2. As the “process/skills recorder” - Records the process of the team, collaborates with other 2’s to identify the skills required/used.
  3. As the ”content controller/support learner” - Ensures the must dos are there, is the ideas person, ensures the context is covered & effectively excites an audience
  4. As the “learner” - Learns, creates & does most off the ‘hands on’ work.

All the best I look forward to seeing your productions during week 10!
- Jan
